[All] E3 Officially Changed To "Intimate Event"
Posted by Ashish on 07.31.2006

The Entertainment Software Assocation has confirmed that E3 will now be an "intimate" show rather than the massive trade show it has been. The show has become known as THE show of the gaming year where publishers and other gaming companies previewed new titles, systems, etc. E3 will still be around with the next show being in July of 2007, but will be vastly different. Different pretty much meaning smaller. The main reason for the change is because many of the larger gaming companies have started hosting their own shows, eliminating the need for a large E3 show.

"The world of interactive entertainment has changed since E3Expo was created 12 years ago," commented ESA president Douglas Lowenstein. "At that time we were focused on establishing the industry and securing orders for the holiday season. Over the years, it has become clear that we need a more intimate program, including higher quality, more personal dialogue with the worldwide media, developers, retailers and other key industry audiences."
